About the race
EcoTrail Funchal - Trail 30 km is an urban and environmentally conscious trail running event on Madeira Island scheduled for 17 October 2026. The course covers 30 km with approximately 610 m of positive ascent and an estimated time limit of 7:00. The route is reported as 90% natural terrain and finishes on Avenida Arriaga after a start at Parque Ecológico do Funchal.
The event sets a maximum of 500 participants and is listed with UTMB qualifying categories 20K, 50K and 100K. A GPX track is provided by the organisation. Practical arrangements include bib pickup at Forum Madeira on 15 October (17:00–23:00), at Largo da Restauração on 16 October (17:00–23:00) and on race day at Largo da Restauração (08:30–08:50). A shuttle bus departs from the city centre of Funchal, near Palácio de São Lourenço, at 07:30.
Mandatory equipment required for the Trail 30 km includes a water reservoir of at least 1 L, food reserves such as energy bars or gels, a drinking cup (minimum 15 cl), an emergency foil blanket, a charged mobile phone, identification, a whistle, waterproof jacket, a backpack or equivalent, and a race bib.
