East Texas Yamboree Tater Trot
The 89th East Texas Yamboree Tater Trot is a community running event held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Gilmer High School (Administration Building parking lot), 850 Buffalo Street, Gilmer, Texas 75644. The event is presented as part of the East Texas Yamboree festival.
Available race options:
- 5K (3.1 miles) chip timed
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
The course follows a neighborhood route known for rolling hills. A water station is provided on the course. Post race refreshments will be available at the finish area, and fresh coffee is provided by Cozy Coffee Station. Every participant receives a commemorative finisher medal. A commemorative race T shirt is guaranteed for all pre registered participants; a limited number of additional shirts may be available on race day while supplies last.
Awards include a $200 gift basket for the overall male and female 5K champions and award ribbons for first and second place male and female finishers in each age division. Teams of family members, friends, or coworkers are permitted, and costumes are encouraged. The event is sponsored by Croley Funeral Home, Credit Union of Texas, and Cozy Coffee Station.
