East Leake Sprint Triathlon 2027
East Leake Sprint Triathlon is scheduled for Sunday 4 April 2027 at East Leake Leisure Centre near Loughborough. The event uses a 25 m pool for the swim and a nearby on-road bike and run circuit around the leisure centre.
The main sprint format comprises a 400 m pool swim (16 lengths), a 22 km on-road bike and a 5 km run. The swim is staged in waves, with four swimmers per wave and short gaps between waves; swimmers must count their lengths and exit through the marked fire exit then follow a short run of about 150 m to transition. The bike is a 22 km out-and-back on open roads with marshalled junctions; the course is not on closed roads. The run is three one-mile laps on mixed surfaces, including pavement and hard pack trail.
Additional race formats include aquabike (400 m swim, 22 km bike), aquathlon (400 m swim, 5 km run), junior/youth categories for ages 15 to 19, and relay team entries for family, club and corporate teams. Prizes are awarded across overall and age group categories, including specific beginner awards. Event services include fully marked courses, professional chip timing with online results, medical cover, spectator friendly arena with disabled access, food and coffee vendors, and an eco friendly finisher medal for participants.
