East End 1K - November 14, 2026
The East End 1K is the seventh edition of a one-kilometer community run in Houston that begins and ends at Equal Parts Brewing at 3118 Harrisburg Blvd. The event includes post-race prizes and drawings, with some proceeds designated to support Small Places, a nonprofit urban farm in Houston’s East End that runs apprenticeships and neighborhood produce distribution programs.
Registration is limited and was scheduled to close on October 9 or when capacity is reached; an early registration fee of $30 is listed. Each registration includes a technical shirt, two free drink tickets, and a drawing ticket. Late registrations may remain available at a reduced fee but will not include an event shirt.
The route is marked and the event is not timed. There are no water stations along the course; water will be available at the brewery. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash. Race participants must be 21 and older; children may attend the event and festivities but are not eligible as participants. Parking is available at the brewery.
Participants should note a safety concern at the Start/Finish area: crossing two lanes of traffic and a light rail is part of the route. Refunds or deferred registrations are not offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
