Ealing Half Marathon - event overview
The Ealing Half Marathon is a road-closed half marathon event based in West London with race village and race-day activity centred on Walpole Park, Ealing W5 5EQ. The main course is 13.1 miles and passes through Montpelier, Pitshanger, Central Ealing and Hanwell before returning via Uxbridge Road. Organisers expect up to 7,000 runners, with thousands of spectators and hundreds of volunteers involved.
The event programme includes several associated races and community activities:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Ealing Feeling 5k
- Ealing Mini Mile (children’s races, age-grouped)
- West London 10k
- The Ealing Mile
Logistics and race services include chip timing with BibTag, pace groups provided by Xempo pacers, tail runners and a sweeper vehicle. There is an official cut-off time of three hours; runners passed by tail runners are asked to move to the pavement for safety and may continue as pedestrians without guaranteed support or a recorded time. Race packs are collection only and a baggage facility accepts small bags up to 40 x 30 x 10 cm.
The event highlights a sustainability programme: recycled 200 ml PET1 water bottles at three on-course stations (around miles 4, 6 and 9), a permanent refill fountain in Lammas Park, wooden sustainable medals, no adult finisher t-shirts by default and an emailed e-goody bag.
