Eaglesfield Paddle 5 & 10K
Eaglesfield Paddle 5 and 10K are two undulating road races held around the villages south of Cockermouth, offering mountain views and a community atmosphere. The 2026 event is the third running after two previous editions.

Proceeds are donated to the Paddle Community Association to buy equipment for the school. Registration takes place in the school playground or inside the hall if it is wet; registration is open from 9:30am to 10:30am. Runners should allow time for a 10 to 15 minute jog or walk from the school to the start. Boxes will be available at the start for spare clothing; items placed in these boxes are left at the owner’s risk and unclaimed items will be donated after one week.
On-course provisions include a water station at about 3 km and 8 km and water at the finish. For hot conditions there will be a sprinkler at the finish and volunteers with water pistols on the route. Refreshments such as drinks, baps and cakes are available for purchase. The minimum age to enter is 12 for the 5 km and 16 for the 10 km. A £2 discount applies for affiliated members. Parking is in the school car park and up the Eaglesfield road towards the church, with marshals supporting departures before the race has finished. Headphones are not permitted. Results are timed by Timing Up North Results. Limited on the day entries may be available with a £5 surcharge if the event does not sell out. Registration closes 11 July 2026 at 18:00.
