Course

The Dude Peak Derby Trail Race is a 16-mile trail run in Salt Lake City, Utah. It starts at Memory Grove Park, heading into City Creek Canyon and onto the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. The route passes Ensign Peak, climbs to radio towers, and follows a ridgeline near the summit of Dude Peak before turning around. Runners return via a descent into City Creek Canyon and finish at Memory Grove Park.

This is a self-supported race; participants should carry their own hydration and nutrition. A water cache is available on the tower road. Due to permitting restrictions, the course does not access U.S. Forest Service land and does not summit Dude Peak.

Registration

Entry fees vary by date: $50 from January to April 2025, $60 in May 2025, and $70 from June 1 to June 20, 2025. Race day registration may be available if the runner cap is not reached.

Prize Money

Cash prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in men's and women's categories. Men receive $100, $75, and $50, while women receive $125, $100, and $75.

Logistics

Parking is along East Capitol Blvd., with a walk to Memory Grove Park. Bib pick-up is available on Friday at Sugar House Park or on race morning. The park requests clearance by 2:00 PM, allowing for a 7-hour total race time.

Restrooms are at Memory Grove Park and Ensign Peak Trailhead; porta-potties may be at the start/finish. A water cache is provided near Dude Peak, but this is a cupless event; runners must bring their own containers. Dogs are allowed on a leash. Crew access is best at Ensign Peak. No refunds are offered, but bib transfers are permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
