Duck Waddle 5K - Estes Park
The Duck Waddle 5K is a spring foot race held on May 2, 2026 in Estes Park. The course begins at the east side of the Estes Park Parking Structure and follows the Lake Estes Trail counterclockwise to a finish on the north side of Lake Estes, west of the Lake Front Parking area. The event serves as the opening race for the Estes Park Rotary Club Duck Race Festival.
Entry for participants includes one duck race ticket with a stated value of $25. Participants may also purchase a short sleeve technical race shirt for an additional fee and receive one free beer at either The Barrel or Rock Cut Brewery on race day. Adults pay $40 and receive one duck adoption with entry; youth 14 and under and seniors 60 and older pay $30, with seniors receiving one duck adoption. Strollers and friendly dogs may enter for free. Late registration adds $5 to entry fees beginning April 25. Race packets are available only on race day morning at the northeast parking structure and race day registration is available at the northeast side of the parking structure.
Awards are given for 1st and 2nd place overall male and female, and for 1st and 2nd place male and female in age categories ranging from 13 and under through 80 and older; masters first place is noted for ages 40 and older. Duck adoptions support local charities, with $23 of each adoption allocated to a local charity choice. The rubber duck race occurs later that day at Riverside Plaza in downtown Estes Park.
