Dresden Marathon
The DRESDEN MARATHON is a city marathon held on the marathon weekend in October 2026. The route runs on a flat, fast course through Dresden and passes the historic Old Town, Brühl’s Terrace, the Semper Opera House, the illuminated Waldschlösschen Tunnel, Waldschlösschen Bridge and the Großer Garten. The second half includes a loop through Blasewitz with views along the Elbe and a finish inside Heinz-Steyer-Stadium after one lap in the stadium.
Eligibility, registration and services are defined by the organiser. Runners born in 2008 and older may participate. Race entry includes a bib with an integrated disposable RFID transponder, refreshments on course and at the finish, Sparkasse pacemaker service, clothing drop bag, optional medal engraving, Marathon Expo, medical emergency services, massage, showers and free public transport within the Dresden zone on race day. Timekeeping records net and gross times; rankings use net time.
Practical details include race packet pickup at BallsportARENA Dresden, checkpoints with a course closure policy, designated pacemaker finish times, aid stations offering water, tea, isotonic drink, fruit and energy products, and a broom wagon service from km 29 for withdrawn runners.
