About the race
The 26th DRESDEN MARATHON is scheduled for 24 and 25 October 2026 and runs through the city of Dresden on a flat and fast course that highlights baroque architecture and green areas.
The route passes many sights including Brühl’s Terrace, the Semper Opera House, the Zwinger Palace, Dresden Cathedral, the Waldschlösschen Tunnel and Bridge, the Großer Garten, the Elbe castles and the Neustadt district. The second half includes a loop through Blasewitz and runs along the Elbe before returning to the Heinz-Steyer-Stadion where participants finish after half a lap inside the stadium. More than 300 musicians and numerous bands provide live entertainment along the route.

Services and race information include an RFID timing transponder integrated into the bib, aid stations with water, tea, isotonic drink and food, pacemaker service, clothing drop, option to deposit personal nutrition, Marathon Expo (Oct 23–24), broom wagon from km 29, finisher medal with optional engraving, massage, showers and free pool access, medical emergency services, online results and printable certificates. Runners born in 2008 or earlier are eligible. Registration follows tiered fees and deadlines with on-site and late registration periods.
