2nd Annual Dreamers of Achievement 5K Run/Walk
The Dreamers of Achievement 5K Run/Walk takes place in Hapeville, Georgia, starting and ending at Jess Lucas Y-Teen Park. Organized by the South Fulton Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., this second annual event serves as a fundraiser to support scholarships, mentorship programs, and community engagement initiatives within the South Fulton area.
The event offers two participation formats:
- 5K Run/Walk: A 3.1 mile in-person race on a USATF certified course (GA25018WC).
- Virtual 5K: A remote option allowing participants to complete the distance on a course or treadmill of their choice.
The in-person 5K course is a professional Peachtree Road Race Qualifier. Timing is provided by Elite Race Timing using RFID chip technology. Participants have a time limit of 1 hour and 20 minutes to complete the course. Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers, masters male and female, and winners across different age groups.
Registration includes a commemorative t-shirt, though size availability is only guaranteed for those who register at least one week prior to the event. Finisher medals are provided to the first 300 registered participants. Packet pickup is available the day before the event during the Hapeville Juneteenth Celebration, as well as on race morning at the park.
