Event overview

The Dragon Trails Winter Edition is set for Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Pearsall Park in San Antonio, Texas (4700 Old Pearsall Rd, 78242). The event offers three trail race options:

  • 25K Great Dragon (two loops)
  • 10K Ultimate Dragon
  • 5K SA Toughest

The Great Dragon 25K is open to ages 12–99.

Course and logistics

All courses run on the Pearsall Park trail system and feature rocky, hilly terrain. The 25K is two loops of a 12.5K route; each loop includes about 778 ft of climb (about 1,556 ft total for 25K). The 10K route has roughly 675 ft of total climb. The 5K includes steep climbs, described as nearly 100 feet of climbing per kilometer.

Aid stations will provide water and Gatorade, with stops placed at approximately one-mile intervals. A bag drop will be available at the finish area for 25K runners who plan a second loop. Packet pick up is on race day under the E-Dragon Productions tent at Pearsall Park.

Timing, awards and services

Chip timing is provided by Best Race Timers IAAP. The 25K has a 4:30 hour overall time limit; runners must finish the first loop within 2 hours 15 minutes to continue to a second loop. Runners unable to meet limits may be transferred to the 10K or marked DNF. All participants receive a singlet, an event-specific finisher medal or tile, post-race snacks and a taco breakfast. Age-group awards are given in 10-year increments up to 70+. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
