About the race

The Dover Fun Run is an annual community running event held in Far South Tasmania that raises funds for the Royal Hobart Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. The event route runs along the foreshore of Port Esperance and offers views of the bay and Adamsons Peak. The organisers report total funds raised since 2019 of $123,179.96.

The programme includes multiple distances and formats, with both in-person and virtual options. Distances offered are:

  • 21 km Dover Half Marathon along the coast.
  • 10 km Tassal Ten Fun Run for ages 12 and over.
  • 5 km community run suitable for walkers and runners.
  • 2 km Annabelle's Run for children 10 and younger.

The event page notes that the Half Marathon follows a coastal course with notable elevation and sea views. The 5 km is run on closed roads and is presented as a community-focused event that regularly reaches capacity. A virtual run option allows participants to take part from other locations.

Listed sponsors include TASSAL, Southern Myotherapy and Bendigo Bank. Additional event information, FAQs and results are provided by the organisers on their event site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
