Domino's Run for Govs 5K
The Domino's Run for Govs 5K is an annual event hosted by the Austin Peay State University National Alumni Association. The race takes place at Emerald Hill in Clarksville, Tennessee, a location listed on the National Register of Historic Sites. The course begins and ends at the Pace Alumni Center, taking participants on a route that overlooks the confluence of the Red and Cumberland rivers.
Participants can choose from several event options:
- 5 km run/walk: A USATF certified course (No. TN21012MS) that involves navigating the winding paths of Emerald Hill.
- 1 km Valerie Hunter-Kelly Run/Walk: A shorter course held in honor of a former committee member.
- Virtual 5 km or 1 km: Participants can complete their chosen distance remotely and submit results via a tracking application.
The event is open to the general public, including students, university employees, and military personnel. Registration proceeds for the 5 km benefit university funds and student scholarships, while the 1 km specifically supports the Valerie Hunter-Kelly Scholarship. The 5 km race includes cash awards for the top three male and female finishers, and scholarships for the top three male and female student finishers. Race medals are provided to all participants who complete the 5 km course.
Strollers and well-behaved pets are permitted on the course. A separate registration fee applies for pets, excluding service animals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
