DNA 5K: Run for 'Hope', Stand for Justice

The DNA 5K takes place on September 19, 2026, at Half Liter BBQ, 5301 Winthrop Ave, Indianapolis, IN. The event remembers murder victims and raises funds to support advanced DNA testing for unresolved cases in Indiana.

Organizers state that DNA testing is critical to pursue justice for cold case homicides and missing person cases. Indiana has over 7,000 cold case homicides and over 1,200 missing person cold cases. Testing can cost tens of thousands of dollars for a single case, so fundraising is intended to help make advanced testing accessible in a timely manner. The event is presented in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana, a 501(c)(3) organization; donations are tax deductible.

Registration opens April 1, 2026. The 5K registration closes July 20, 2026, with a fee of $30. The kids run registration closes July 13, 2026, with a fee of $15.
