Event Details
The event takes place in Wicklow, starting at the Djouce Woods car park. The date is Wednesday, 8th July 2026.
Course Information
There are two course options. The long route covers 12.20 km with 633 m of climb. Due to widespread storm damage, this year's long route will differ substantially from previous years but is noted to be slightly longer. The short course is 4.65 km in distance. Both routes are fully marked.
Schedule & Participation
The main race starts at 19:30. An early start at 19:00 is available only for runners who reasonably expect their finish time to be 160% or more of the winning time. The short course and junior race starts five minutes after the main race at 19:35. Registration opens at 18:15 and closes at 19:15 on the night of the event. All runners must register on the night.
Mandatory Kit
Runners must bring Level B mandatory kit to the race, including a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, a whistle, a charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or equivalent. The actual kit to be carried during the race will be finalised on the day based on conditions. Random kit checks may be carried out.
Venue & Logistics
Parking is at the Djouce Woods car park on Old Long Hill Road. Car parking will be tight, and carpooling is recommended. A suggested carpool location is a car park off the roundabout at Berto's after exiting the N11 at Kilmacanogue. Registration and chip collection will be in the main car park. The race start/finish is 500m down the fire road at the first "V" junction. Prize-giving and a raffle will be held afterward at Berto's Pizzeria.
