Dirt Days Trail Series West Side Best Side 5K Trail Run at Shawnee Lookout
The event is scheduled for Sunday, October 18, 2026, with the date listed as tentative pending park approval. It takes place at Shawnee Lookout Hamilton County Park in North Bend, Ohio, and begins and ends at the Waterhole Meadow Shelter.
The course combines the lollipop loops of the Blue Jacket and Little Turtle nature trails. Trail segments in the park include the 1.3 mile Blue Jacket trail, the 2.0 mile Little Turtle trail, and the 1.4 mile Miami Fort trail. The race route is approximately 3.44 miles / 5.54 km and follows park trails that overlook the Ohio River and Great Miami River valleys.
Amenities and services noted for the event include chip timing with MyLaps disposable bib tags and age graded awards. Random door prizes are drawn and winners must be present to accept prizes. Dirt Days Trail Series tech shirts are sold at the event by Fleet Feet for $20 while supplies last. A variety of postrace treats will be available and the park provides picnic areas, a playground and boat access to the Great Miami River.
