Dino Trail Run - Muscatatuck Park
The event is a trail running weekend held at Muscatatuck County Park in North Vernon, Indiana. The course offers two distance options:
- 15K
- 5K
The terrain includes hills and mixed surfaces; difficulty is listed as Hills 4 and Surface 3 on a 1-to-5 scale. Course maps and GPX files are provided for both distances. Online registration closes in early July and in-person registration is available on race day. Entry fees are listed as $35 for the 15K, $30 for the 5K, with an additional day-of entry fee and a free kids race. A season pass option is available for multiple events in the series.
Event facilities and services include designated campground reservations, festival-style camping around Shelter 4 for $5 per person per night, restrooms within walking distance, and a main event site across the road from the campground. A playground and splash pad are nearby. Two guided kayak shuttle trips are offered on the same weekend; trip lengths are about 3 miles and 2.5 miles and a fee is charged for kayak participation. Multiple mountain bike events are scheduled after the trail run on the same weekend.
Race rules note visible race numbers, staying on marked trails, no headphones or dogs, and no refunds. Awards include medals for the top three overall in each distance and top three in age groups. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
