Dimple Dell Blitz Backyard
The event takes place at Wrangler Trailhead within Dimple Dell Regional Park on a loop course of 4.167 mile that is mostly woodchipped trail. The surface is described as resistant to becoming muddy in rain or snow and provides views of the snow covered Wasatch Mountains during early spring conditions.
Event options include:
- 4 hour Blitz (capacity 60 runners)
- 8 hour Blitz (capacity 60 runners)
- 12 hour Blitz (capacity 60 runners)
Each loop must be completed within the hour to receive credit and runners may not start the next loop early. The Blitz format records and times every lap; placement is determined first by distance completed and then by cumulative lap time for runners with equal distance. Live timing will display individual lap times and cumulative totals during the race.
All runners who complete at least one loop receive a finisher medal. Runners who complete 12 loops receive a custom leather patch beanie for the 50 mile accomplishment. Top three male and female placements are determined by distance then cumulative time.
Logistics note: packet pickup is available the day before at the local running store and race day pickup is available. The finish area can accommodate tents and spectators; parking is provided in paved stalls across the street to keep the trailhead open. Food at the finish includes snacks, an electrolyte drink, Great Harvest Bread for the shorter event conclusion, and pizza for the longer event conclusions. Free course and finish line photos will be available without a watermark. Average March temperatures are listed as a high near 53 F and a low near 38 F.
