D-backs Race Against Cancer 5K
The Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation Race Against Cancer is an annual event presented by Dignity Health Cancer Institute, held at Chase Field on Sunday, September 27, 2026. Now in its 13th year, the event raises funds for Arizona nonprofit organizations that provide cancer screening, treatment, and support for individuals and families affected by all types of cancer. The course begins and ends at the ballpark and offers participants the option to walk or run the 5K.
Registration details include a tiered fee structure: $50 plus fees through September 18, 2026, and $60 plus fees after that date. Registration includes a commemorative race shirt, drawstring bag, finisher medal, and chip timing. Participants who register before September 15 will receive a free upper-level ticket for the September 14–16 series vs. the Marlins. Spaces are limited, all participants must be pre-registered, and race day registration will not be available. Registration fees are non-refundable and are transferable only until September 24.
Event services and rules note that wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons are welcome, pets are not permitted on the 5K course, and roller blades, skateboards, and motorized devices are prohibited. The event proceeds benefit the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation and are earmarked for programs and nonprofits that provide cancer screening, treatment, and support.
Post-race activities include a victory lap inside Chase Field for registered participants and a Wellness Zone on the ballpark plaza near Gate E. All 5K finishers receive a commemorative medal; awards and special recognition are planned for top finishers across age categories, with select overall winners receiving opportunities during the 2027 season.
