D-backs Race Against Cancer 5K
The D-backs Race Against Cancer 5K is presented by Dignity Health Cancer Institute and takes place on Sunday, September 27, 2026, beginning and ending at Chase Field. The event is run by the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation and is in its 13th year.
The race benefits Arizona nonprofit organizations that provide cancer screening, treatment, and support for individuals and families affected by all types of cancer. The event offers a choice to walk or run the 5K course. Registration includes a commemorative race shirt, drawstring bag, finisher medal, and chip timing. Participants who register before mid-September receive a free upper-level ticket for a game during the September 14-16 series versus the Marlins. Registration spaces are limited, all entries must be pre-registered, and fees are non-refundable; transfers are allowed only until September 24.
Event access and on-course rules allow wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons; no roller blades, skateboards, motorized devices, or pets are permitted on the run course. Packet pick-up will be available at a tent on 4th Street near the starting line. After the race, registered participants may enter Chase Field for a victory lap for survivors and visit a Wellness Zone on the ballpark plaza near Gate E.
All proceeds support the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation and its programs and nonprofit partners focused on cancer screening, treatment, and support. Age-group awards and overall prizes are planned for in-person participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
