Día de los Muertos 5K - Mission
The second annual Día de los Muertos 5K and 1 Mile takes place on November 1, 2026 at the National Butterfly Center in Mission, TX. The event is centered on honoring and celebrating the lives of loved ones who have passed and on bringing a community together with themed decorations and music.
Distances offered:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile (fun run/walk)
- 5K Virtual (3.1 miles, medal and shirt option)
Event services and logistics include professional chip timing and live results for the 5K, finisher medals, 5K age group and overall awards, race shirts (shirt deadline Oct. 14, 2026), post-race snacks and drinks, a start/finish line arch, race-day photo opportunities, and local vendors. Registration fee options listed by the organizer are $30 for a 5K with a shirt, $20 for a 5K without a shirt, $30 for the 5K virtual option, and $15 for the 1 Mile fun run/walk.
5K age group awards are offered for male and female competitors in these categories: 12 and under; 13 to 19; 20 to 29; 30 to 39; 40 to 49; 50 to 59; 60 to 69; and 70 plus.
