About the race
Devil’s Trail Rijk van Nijmegen is a trailrun event on 25 October 2026 in the Berg en Dal area, with the start and finish at Camping De Groote Flierenberg (Zevenheuvelenweg 57). The event offers three marked routes and varied natural terrain through the Rijk van Nijmegen and Duivelsberg area, with notable climbs, single tracks and woodland sections that typically show autumn colours in late October.
Distances offered:
- 11 km Flierenberg Trail, approx 150 m elevation
- 22 km Langenberg Trail, approx 300 m elevation
- 33 km Wolfsberg Trail, approx 400 m elevation
GPX files and route maps are sent to participants about one week before the event. The courses are signposted and checked on the morning of the event; route splits are indicated with signs. There are multiple fourage points with water and varied supplies located at fixed kilometers per distance. The event is cupless, so participants should bring their own cup or bottle; a Devil’s Trail drink cup is available for purchase on site.
Electronic timing is used with timing chips in the start number. A reusable chip scheme was discontinued; participants who return chips can receive a small discount. Participation is limited to 1000 runners, starts are in groups of about 75–100, and a minimum average speed of 7.5 km/h is enforced as a time limit. Dogs are not allowed. The event is organised by Stichting Sportbeleving in cooperation with Sporteiland, and a contribution from each entry supports route maintenance with Natuurmonumenten and Staatsbosbeheer.
