About the race
The Deutsche Post Marathon Bonn is scheduled for 11 April 2027 in Bonn. The event offers multiple race formats in the city and along the Rhine, including road races for runners, inline skaters and handbikers. School pupils can take part in the Deutsche Post Schulmarathon free of charge.
Registration is stated to open after the summer holidays. Start and finish locations shown for the main races are at Belderberg / Koblenzer Tor and the Old Town Hall (Altes Rathaus). The marathon route crosses the Kennedybrücke to Beuel and returns to the left bank, then follows the Rhine past the Rheinaue with a turnaround on Ludwig-Erhard-Allee. The course continues past the Post Tower, along the Museumsmeile and the Museum Koenig, then through the university area and past the Bonner Münster toward the Münsterplatz.
The marathon uses a two‑lap layout with the second lap returning via Friedrichstraße and a final straight on Sternstraße to the Old Town Hall. The half marathon follows the same primary route as a single lap. The marathon relay uses the marathon route with exchange zones close to start and finish. The 10 km course follows the river and includes a separate turnaround roughly 4 km into the 10 km route; signage is used to indicate the turn.
All 10 km, half marathon and marathon courses have been measured by a licensed WA-AIMS/DLV measurer and are eligible for ranking lists. Results are processed by net time; overall and gender top 20 are ranked by gun time while age groups are ranked by net time. The competition is conducted under the German Athletics Association rules and overseen by the regional athletics authority. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
