Deseret News Marathon : Utah running event
The Deseret News Marathon is the longest operating marathon in Utah. In 2026 the event marks its 56th year of racing along a historic pioneer route into the Salt Lake Valley and through the Days of 47 Parade on Pioneer Day.
The event offers several distances and race formats. A new marathon relay was added for 2025. Medals for the event are designed by SymbolArts and the medal lineup has been expanded.
The 2026 race date is Friday, July 24 (Pioneer Day). Registration for 2026 is available; early bird pricing runs until January 9 and race entry prices increase on May 22.
