Deseret News Marathon

The Deseret News Marathon is the longest operating marathon in Utah. The event marks its 56th year in 2026 and follows a historic pioneer route into the Salt Lake Valley, passing through the Days of 47 Parade. The 2026 race day is scheduled for July 24, Pioneer Day.

Races offered include a full marathon, a half marathon, a 10K, a 5K and a 1K. A marathon relay was introduced in 2025 and is listed among the event offerings for recent years. Medals for the event are designed by SymbolArts and the medal lineup has been expanded for current editions.
