About the race
Desafío en las Nubes 2027 is a trail running event held in Xicotepec de Juárez, Puebla, Mexico from 19 to 21 February 2027. The race takes place on mountain terrain with varied underfoot conditions that include narrow trails, technical sections, stream crossings, dirt roads and off‑trail segments. Courses pass through multiple control points and aid stations along the route.
The competition offers several distances with significant elevation gain:
- 2.5 km (DENcitos)
- 5 km (DENsotes)
- 11 km Micro DEN - 830 m D+
- 26 km Mini DEN - 1,900 m D+
- 34 km Medio DEN - 2,500 m D+
- 48 km Ultra DEN - 3,150 m D+
For the Ultra DEN 48K a preregistration process is required to verify sufficient mountain racing experience; specific preregistration requirements are described in the event regulations. Race logistics include numbered bib distribution and mandatory equipment checks for all distances, and the organizer provides prize ceremonies for shorter and longer distances on subsequent days.
