Depot Days Rail Run 5K
The Depot Days Rail Run 5K is part of an annual community running and walking program held in downtown Newbern on West Main Street. The event continues a decades-long local tradition established by community leaders, and proceeds support a local memorial food pantry and the Loads of Love laundry ministry at the Newbern Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Event types listed include:
- 5K Rail Run
- Morning Mile
- Health Walk
Registration fees are listed in event materials as $20 for the 5K and $15 for the other events. An event T-shirt is available for purchase for $15. Organizers request that participants bring canned goods and laundry pods on race day to support the pantry and laundry ministry, which are staffed by community volunteers at the church.
Sponsorship opportunities are available; a sponsorship of $100 includes recognition on event materials such as banners and flyers and on the event website. Checks for sponsorships are to be made payable to the Newbern Rotary. The description reflects event offerings, charitable beneficiaries, participant requests, and sponsor recognition as provided by the event organizers.
