Mile Zero Race Details
Mile Zero is a running event taking place in Helena, Arkansas. The event starts at Kelly Courtyard and takes participants through a variety of local landscapes. Available distances include:
- Marathon (Includes Music & Lunch)
- Half Marathon (Includes Music & Lunch)
- 5k
- MURAL MILE
The course begins in town, passing by the Delta Cultural Center and moving along the brick path of the levee walk overlooking the port of Helena. As runners leave the town area, the terrain transitions from bricks to gravel. The route enters a national forest where the road becomes softer and sandier. To the west, participants can see Crowley’s Ridge, a geologic feature rising 250 feet above the surrounding region. The eastern side of the route features woods and cypress swamp.
This is a cupless event. Participants are encouraged to bring their own hydration packs or bottles, though water jugs are provided on the course. Following the run, local vendors provide food in a brick-lined picnic area. The marathon and half marathon registrations include lunch and access to live music. The event is organized by the nonprofit studioDRIFT with the goal of supporting adventure tourism and the creation of the Crowley’s Ridge Gravel Trail.
