Trail Running in Western Australia

The Delirious West takes place in Western Australia, utilizing the Bibbulmun Track for its course. The event starts at the Northcliffe Hotel in Northcliffe and concludes in Albany. Participants traverse a variety of natural landscapes, including tall forest areas and coastal sections along ocean cliffs.

The event offers two primary ultra-endurance distances for participants:

  • 200 miles (approximately 340 km)
  • 100 miles (approximately 170 km)

The route follows established trails through the Southern Hemisphere wilderness. The course incorporates significant elevation changes as it moves from the inland forests toward the shoreline. This multi-day event is organized by Ultra Series W.A. and is recognized as an AURA-approved competition.

Members of the Australian Ultra Runners' Association (AUTRA) are eligible for a registration discount. The terrain consists of a mixture of single-track trails and coastal paths, providing a point-to-point journey across the southwestern region of the state. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
