Defiance 50K - Point Defiance Park
The Defiance event offers trail races in Point Defiance, routed on an approximately 9.75 mi / 15.7 km loop through old growth forest. The loop passes the Owen Beach start/finish area and features soft single-track trails beneath large cedars and firs, with panoramic views of the Puget Sound. Elevation gain and loss per loop is 1,306 feet.

- 3-person 50K relay each runner completes one loop
Course support includes an aid station at Fort Nisqually approximately 5.3 miles into the loop and aid at the start/finish. Water, electrolyte drink, food, and fixed bathrooms are provided at water stations; medical personnel are located at the start/finish area. The course is mostly single track and is reported to be 95% runnable; it is typically dry in mid-October. Runners are advised to carry at least one bottle of water.
Registration includes a finisher medal and a tech shirt when ordered by the stated cutoff date; race swag is distributed at packet pickup or at the finish. There is a stated time limit of eight hours for the full distance. Limited parking is available at Owen Beach. A portion of proceeds benefits the Humane Society of Tacoma and Pierce County.
