About the race
La 7th edition of Défi Everest Orford takes place from 25 to 27 September 2026 at Mont Orford in Orford, Quebec, Canada. The event is a charitable effort that benefits AlterGo and the Fondation des sports adaptés, with a stated fundraising target of 50,000 $.
During the event, teams of hikers accompany people with functional limitations in ascents of Mont Orford using specialized equipment such as the Joëlette and the Trackz Mobilité hiking wheelchair. The collective objective is to complete at least 19 ascents per day, a total daily elevation intended to match that of Mount Everest.
Registration options include individual and team participation. Individuals may join an existing team either as a hiker or as a participant with a functional limitation; each additional ascent requires a separate registration. Fundraising requirements include a minimum goal of 100 $ for individual participants and 1,000 $ for team fundraising pages. Participants register individually to join teams and to indicate the number of ascents they will complete.
