About the race
The Défi des 4 Versants is a running and walking event in Saint-Elzéar scheduled for 19 September 2026. It takes place in a rural, hilly setting with routes that start from the municipal multifunctional field and use the local bike path, wooded trails, fields, orchard and cross-country tracks. Many routes run on private land with organizer permission.
Distances offered include:
- 1 km for children and families on bike path and nearby trails.
- 2 km for children and families on bike path and nearby trails.
- 5.5 km mixed trail route, one versant.
- 5.5 km Lions walk, mixed trail route.
- 12.5 km mixed trail route over three versants.
- 17.5 km mixed trail route over four versants.
- 28 km Audacyeux, mixed surfaces over extended distance.
- Team challenge 5.7 km for teams of 3 or 4, team time by averaging three best times.
Most courses are trail based and about 85% on rugged terrain, so participants may encounter roots, uneven ground and wet or tall grass. Elevation gains are provided per route (for example ±71 m for 5.5 km and ±850 m for the longest distance). Medals are awarded to top finishers by category, with specific rules for the 28 km. A race guide and past results are available. Organizers note that courses may be canceled if impracticable and that entry policies apply for refunds and transfers. The event names Alkegen as an official partner and highlights volunteer support. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
