The Event
The Défi Daniel Lequin is a running event scheduled for Sunday, April 26, 2026, at the Quai Catherine-Legardeur in Sorel-Tracy. This marks its fifth edition. The event has donated over $103,000 during its first four editions. Profits are split evenly between the Fondation de l'hôpital Hôtel-Dieu de Sorel and the Association pulmonaire du Québec.
The Courses
The routes take place in the Regard-sur-le-fleuve park, along the shores of the St. Lawrence River, with views of the Îles de Sainte-Anne-de-Sorel. The available distances are:
- 21.1 km
- 15 km (a new distance added for this edition)
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 3 km
- 1 km
Walkers are permitted in the 1 km, 3 km, 5 km, and 10 km distances.
Practical Information
The event is held rain or shine. Registration includes a bib (personalized if registered by April 15 at 11:59 PM), a finisher's medal for all participants, a healthy snack, as well as on-site entertainment, music, inflatable games, and superheroes. Toilets are available at the start/finish area and at two locations along the courses.
Bib pickup is on Saturday, April 25 at a partner store in Sorel-Tracy, or on-site on Sunday from 8 AM. Distance changes are possible until April 22, with applicable additional fees. Transfers of registration to another person are permitted until April 22, with a $10 fee. No refunds are granted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
