Canadian Death Race
The Canadian Death Race is the 27th annual mountain ultramarathon held near Grande Cache, Alberta, with a start and finish at 10450 Hoppe Ave. Course changes for 2027 include replacing the Near Death Marathon with a new 50k distance.
The full course begins and ends on a 1,300 m plateau, passes over three mountain summits, includes more than 5,000 m of cumulative elevation change, and features a major river crossing at Hell's Gate canyon at the confluence of the Smoky and Sulphur Rivers. The event presents multiple race options and a separate kids' event.
