The Race
The Death Race is a classic mountain ultra-marathon. The 2026 edition will be the 26th annual event.
The 118 km course begins and ends on a 4200-foot plateau. It passes over three mountain summits and includes over 17000 feet of elevation change. The route features a major river crossing at Hell's Gate canyon at the confluence of the Smoky and Sulphur rivers.

- Near Death Marathon (waiting list)

- Kids' Death Race.
The Ultra and Marathon events take place in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, in Grande Cache, Alberta.
Practical Information
Registration is conducted online. Information meetings for racers and volunteers are scheduled for the day before the race. An awards ceremony is held on Sunday. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
