Canadian Death Race in Grande Cache, Alberta
The Canadian Death Race is a mountain trail event held in Grande Cache, AB on August 1-2, 2026. The event offers multiple race formats across alpine and rocky terrain.

The course begins and ends on a 4200-foot plateau and crosses three mountain summits. It includes a major river crossing at Hell's Gate canyon where the Smoky and Sulphur Rivers meet. Elevation change is listed as approximately 5,181 m (17,000 feet) for the ultra and 2,132 m (6,995 feet) for the marathon.
Logistics and support: aid stations are located throughout each stage with varying supplies. Solo competitors may leave drop bags for specified transition areas and control points; drop bags must be submitted at check in. A support crew is recommended but not required. Support crews and relay teams are not permitted to meet runners at aid stations.
