Dash 4 Domestic Violence Awareness 5K
The Fifth Annual Dash 4 Domestic Violence Awareness 5K is scheduled for October 2, 2027 at Alexander Park in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The event is a community 5K run and walk that aims to raise awareness about domestic violence and to support survivors and prevention efforts.
Event activities include registration and packet pick up, remarks from partner organizations including Mosaic Georgia, Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV), and Ahimsa House, a prerace warm up, the 5K run/walk, and an awards ceremony at the registration pavilion. Hydration and snacks are provided for participants.
Proceeds from the race support three local organizations. Mosaic Georgia provides free, confidential support and services for survivors of sexual violence and abuse. PADV focuses on education about domestic violence, promotion of healthy relationships, and offers safety and shelter. Ahimsa House helps survivors bring pets to safety through a network of foster homes and boarding facilities. Raised funds help sustain crisis intervention and advocacy, shelter and safe housing resources, education and outreach, survivor support, and programs that aim to break cycles of violence.
