Danny Ray Sanchez Memorial 5K Run / Walk & 1 Mile Walk
This is the 16th annual community running event held in El Paso, Texas, at Montwood High School, 12000 Montwood. The event offers in-person and virtual participation options on Saturday, September 5, 2026. Distances available include:
- 5K Run / Walk (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile Run / Walk (1 mile)
Registration has a standard fee of $30. Registration opens on June 27, 2026. In-person registration closes on September 5, 2026 and virtual registration closes on August 26, 2026. Registration fees are non-refundable. A referral program provides a $5 refund when five friends register with a referral code; an additional $5 refund is available if five more friends register. The referral promotion expires September 2, 2026.
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at Up and Running, 3233 N. Mesa Ste. 205, with race day pickup available at the start line. Virtual participants may request mailed packets for a $10 fee; mailed packets begin distribution September 12, 2026. First 300 registrants receive a race T-shirt. Awards include a largest team recognition and medals for the top three 5K finishers in each age group: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 plus.
