Event Overview
Dale's Trail 40 Miler is a community ultra marathon held on Wrangell Island, Alaska. The event is a grassroots initiative designed to bring local runners together and highlight the trail network available on the island. Participants navigate a course that combines different types of terrain, including paved highway, logging roads, bush trails, and the Rainbow Falls boardwalk trail system.
Course Information
The route covers approximately 40 miles and begins and ends at Shoemaker Park. The course is structured as a dual loop that overlaps with the Rainbow Falls Trail System. Runners should be prepared for remote trail conditions. While the event provides hot meals on the day of the race, aid stations are limited along the route.
Participation Details
Entry is available for individual solo runners or teams of two, three, or four people. Although there is no registration fee, participants must register in advance for logistics and safety purposes. A pre-event dinner is held at Shoemaker Park on the evening of July 2.
