Event Overview
The Daffodil Dash takes place in Ithaca, New York, hosted at the Ithaca Children's Garden and Cass Park. This event marks its fourth year and is organized by the Ithaca Garden Club and the Ithaca Children's Garden. Participants have the opportunity to run, walk, roll, or stroll along the Cayuga Inlet while viewing approximately 180,000 blooming daffodils.
The event serves as a fundraiser for local beautification. Every dollar raised from the event is used to purchase daffodil bulbs for future planting projects in the local community, such as Stewart Park. Previous efforts have resulted in major plantings at the entrance to Cayuga Medical Center Hospital.
Course and Distances
The routes are designed to showcase the seasonal floral displays planted along the inlet.
- 5 km Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
The 1 Mile course winds through the scenic daffodil blooms and finishes at Gaia, the large turtle structure located within the Ithaca Children's Garden. The 5 km path follows the inlet through Cass Park, providing views of the extensive flower beds.
Participation Details
Registration is required and is limited to 500 participants. The event is open to various age groups, with free registration available for children aged 12 and under. Youth participants must have a responsible adult remain on site for the duration of the event.
