Cypress Triathlon : Bayou City Triathlon Series
The Cypress Triathlon takes place in the Bridgeland community around Lake Bridgeland and Festival Park on July 25 - 26, 2026. The event spans two days with youth and dog events on Saturday and main multisport races on Sunday.
Distances include:
- Doggie Splash'N Dash: 200 meter swim, 1 mile run
- Youth Triathlon short: 50 meter swim, 2 mile bike, 0.5 mile run
- Youth Triathlon long: 100 meter swim, 4 mile bike, 1.15 mile run
- Sprint Triathlon: 550 meter swim, 11 mile bike, 5K run
- Super Sprint Triathlon: 200 meter swim, 7 mile bike, 2.1 mile run
- Duathlon: 1 mile run, 11 mile bike, 5K run
Youth races use a community pool swim, a closed surface street bike course, and a lake-adjacent run finishing near transition. Sprint and Super Sprint feature point-to-point open water swims in Lake Bridgeland, with a beach start for the Sprint and an in-water start for the Super Sprint. The bike courses are flat out-and-back rides on Bridgeland Lake Parkway with only two left turns. The run courses are shaded and spectator-friendly, finishing at Festival Park.
The Sprint offers relay and aquabike options. The event also includes group challenges with team size and award criteria. The race has attracted participants for over a decade and draws close to 1,000 entrants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
