Crown of the Crest - Event overview

Crown of the Crest is a multi-distance trail running event held at Calvin Crest near Fremont, Nebraska, organized by the Greater Omaha Area Trail Runnerz (GOATz). The event uses an approximate 10 mile single-track loop on the bluffs of the Platte River. The loop features an estimated 900 feet of elevation gain, reaches about 1,400 feet at maximum elevation, and includes switchbacks, roots, and technical sections that move through cedars and along bluff terrain.

Race operations include a fully stocked, manned aid station at the start/finish, an unmanned water stop on course passed twice per loop, drop bag allowance, and packet pickup before each race. There is a mandatory prerace briefing before every race. Pacers are allowed for 100 mile runners after 50 miles and are permitted for the Lucky 13 after sunrise. Winners receive event-specific awards, including the Crown of the Crest for the 100 mile and a similar award for Lucky 13.
