Crown & Anchor Mews Memorial 8k
The Crown & Anchor Mews Memorial is an annual 8k road race that runs from the Mundy Pond area to Quidi Vidi Lake, finishing at the Quidi Vidi Boathouse. The course is described as fast and is commonly used as a tune up for the Tely 10. The event takes place each June.
Event details include an entry fee of $40 and a requirement for NLAA membership or a day permit. Water on course is provided by Empire at Freshwater. Bib pickup is available the day before at the Hop Shop and at the Quidi Vidi Brewery outlet. A postrace reception at Quidi Vidi Brewery includes a complimentary race day beverage valid during the reception and a branded finisher medal for the first 500 finishers. The committee donates $5 per runner to a local charity and awards $500 to anyone who breaks an official course record. The race is NLAA accredited, listed as Toyota High Performance Series event number six, and carries course certification NL-2019-027-PTBA.
