Event overview
The Mews Memorial 8k is a road running race of 8 km held on Sunday, June 14, 2026. The course runs from the Mundy Pond area to Quidi Vidi Lake and has been held for more than 35 years. The event is hosted by Athletics NorthEAST Running Club and is NLAA accredited. The course certification is NL-2019-027-PTBA. A $500 prize is offered for breaking the course record.
Logistics and extras
Entry fee is $40. NLAA membership or a day permit is required to compete. Registration closes on June 11, 2026. Bib pickup is available the day before the race at Hop Shop, 16 Harbour View Avenue, and at the Quidi Vidi Brewery outlet off Torbay Road. A water station is listed at Empire @ Freshwater.
Every finisher receives a Quidi Vidi branded medal (first 500 finishers) and a complimentary race-day beverage redeemable during the postrace reception at Quidi Vidi Brewery. The race committee donates $5 per runner to a local charity; the 2026 charity will be announced. The event has previously drawn several hundred finishers and involves volunteer support.
