CURE-Ageous 5K Fun Run
The CURE-Ageous 5K in Cross Creek West is a community fundraising event held on Oct 24 that benefits the IBC Network Foundation. The event is a family-friendly, non timed 5K run or walk that emphasizes awareness and fundraising for inflammatory breast cancer research.
The route starts at 4803 Garden Crest Ln, Fulshear, TX. Event parking is at Haygood Elementary, 31620 Fulshear Bend Dr, with golf cart shuttles available for attendees who need assistance from the parking area to the event space.
Registration includes a race day T-shirt, runner bib, and participation medal, plus access to water stations at the start, mid-point, and finish, and post-race refreshments. Onsite same-day registration is available for $45, though same-day registrants are not guaranteed a medal.
The event is presented as rain or shine; severe-weather changes will be communicated to participants. The atmosphere is family oriented: strollers are allowed, leashed dogs may participate, and children are welcome. Race-day features include a photo booth, face painting, a DJ, yard games, and food trucks offering healthy street eats for purchase.
The IBC Network Foundation focuses on raising awareness of inflammatory breast cancer, a rare and aggressive form of the disease that can present with breast swelling and redness rather than a distinct lump. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
