Crested Butte Ultra
Crested Butte Ultra is a trail running event in Crested Butte, Colorado held on September 26, 2026. Distances offered are:
- 35K: Lowest 8822', Highest 9988', Elevation gain 2280'
- 55K: Lowest 8822', Highest 11290', Elevation gain 4567'
- 50 Mile: Lowest 8822', Highest 11291', Elevation gain 8301'
Courses traverse the Gunnison National Forest and include single track trails through mountain meadows and along ridgelines. Lower elevation sections feature wildflowers; higher sections provide alpine views and fall foliage. The event operates under a special use permit with the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre, and Gunnison National Forests.
Aid stations are cupless. Water dispensers will be available at the start/finish area and at every aid station for filling bladders, bottles, or reusable cups; runners are asked to bring a reusable cup.
The start and finish are located at Crested Butte Community School, 818 Red Lady Avenue, Crested Butte, CO. Packet pickup is handled on race day at the school; a photo ID is required to receive a packet. Entries are non-transferable. Runners may collect the goody bag and shirt of a registered runner who will not attend, but may not pick up another runner's bib.
All entrants receive a custom race shirt, a custom BOCO hat, and a finisher's buckle. Official results are posted on Ultrasignup and event photos are provided by Redgoat Photography. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
