Crested Butte Ultra
Crested Butte Ultra is a trail ultramarathon held in Crested Butte, Colorado on September 26, 2026. The event offers multiple distances that run on single-track trails through the Gunnison National Forest and nearby protected areas.

Courses pass through mountain meadows, ridgelines, and lower-elevation areas with wildflowers and noted fall foliage. The event is authorized under a special use permit with the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre, and Gunnison National Forests.
Course statistics vary by distance. The 50 Mile course ranges from about 8,822 to 11,291 feet with roughly 8,301 feet of elevation gain and loss. The 55K course has similar low and high points and about 4,567 feet of elevation gain and loss. The 35K course ranges from about 8,822 to 9,988 feet with about 2,280 feet of elevation gain and loss. Maps, interactive course files, and GPX downloads are provided by the organizer.
Aid stations are cupless; runners must bring a reusable cup. Water dispensers are provided at the start/finish area and at every aid station to fill bladders, bottles, or reusable cups. Packet pickup and race-day procedures are managed at the Crested Butte Community School; a photo ID is required to receive a packet.
