Cradle Mountain Trophy
The Cradle Mountain Trophy takes place on 3 and 4 October 2026 at Valley Lodge & Spa in Magaliesburg. The event returns as a two day festival of gravel and mountain bike racing plus trail running and a new schools stage race.
The weekend forms Round 4 of the Stellantis Adventure Series and offers double series points. The overall series prize purse is R350,000 with R100,000 allocated to each overall male and female series winner. Total prize money across the series events exceeds R500,000. Individual event prizes include R10,000 for winners and R6,000 allocated to trail running prize money.
All cycling routes in 2026 are gravel focused and described as suitable for experienced riders while remaining accessible to social participants and first time gravel racers.
Distances offered include:
- 100 km Gravel/MTB
- 70 km Gravel/MTB
- 45 km Gravel/MTB
- 20 km Gravel/MTB
Trail run and walk options include:
- 5 km Trail Run / Walk
- 10 km Trail Run / Walk
- 15 km Trail Run (no walkers)
The Mountain Trophy Adventure schools stage race runs across two days and includes:
- 15 km MTB Time Trial on Saturday
- 20 km MTB Race U14 and 45 km MTB Race for U16 and U19 on Sunday
