Course Overview
The Cradle Mountain Run is a 78 km run through Tasmania's wilderness. The route primarily follows the Overland Track.

The 2027 event will be held on 6th February 2027. Entries will open on 11th October 2026.
Important Guidelines for Training
Runners training on the Overland Track should be aware of seasonal access guidelines. The permit season runs from 1 October to 31 May. During this period, runners using a day pass have limited access: only to Waterfall Valley from the north, to Pelion Gap and Mt Ossa from the Arm River Track, and to the Pine Valley turn-off from the south. Running longer distances during this season requires an Overland Track Permit. Outside the permit season, from 1 June to 30 September, runners with a National Parks pass may usually run any distance in either direction.
