About the race
The Course pédestre Thyon-Dixence is a mountain running event that follows roads and high-altitude trails in the Val des Dix, in the Valais Alps. The route runs at elevations between 2100 and 2450 m and includes sections along the shore of a small alpine lake and steeper rocky terrain.
The total distance is 16.35 km with a positive elevation gain of 700 m. The course offers views of prominent peaks such as the Dent-Blanche and the Matterhorn (Cervin). The eventual goal of the route is visible from the start: the Grande Dixence dam. The finish line is located on the dam wall, at the midpoint of the structure.
