Corner Canyon 5K, 10K, Half Marathon
The Corner Canyon event offers three trail races that begin and end at Andy Ballard Arena. Distances run on the dirt trail system include:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon
Courses travel mainly through Corner Canyon and pass local features such as Ghost Falls, the silica pit, and the Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge. Runners will encounter multiple surfaces including pavement, sand, gravel, and packed dirt with varying grades and widths from road-width sections to single-track trail. Wildlife may be present and fall colors are noted as a seasonal feature.
Several aid stations along the route provide water and sports drinks, and water, sports drinks, and snacks are available at the finish. Timing uses individual race chips on bibs; race photos are taken on course and provided for download. The event enforces a four hour cut-off after which staff and marshals are withdrawn.
Registration policies note that participants who register by August 20 receive a long sleeve tech shirt, and extra shirts may be purchased at packet pick-up for ten dollars while supplies last. Day of registration is available at Andy Ballard Arena for an increased fee. Packet pick-up is held the two days before the race at the Parks and Recreation office and on race morning at Andy Ballard Arena.
Awards include plaques for the top three overall male and female finishers in each race and plaques for the top finisher in each age division. Volunteers receive an event shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
