Corner Canyon 5K, 10K, Half Marathon
The Corner Canyon event offers three trail races that run mainly through Corner Canyon on the local dirt trail system. Routes pass features such as Ghost Falls, the silica pit, and the Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge, and runners may encounter local wildlife and seasonal fall colors. The course includes varied surfaces and widths, including pavement, sand, gravel, packed dirt, and stretches of single-track trail with both uphill and downhill grades.
Distances include:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
All races begin and end at Andy Ballard Arena. Race entries include long-sleeve tech shirts and other event items; the half marathon entry additionally lists a souvenir beanie cap. Each participant receives a race bib with timing chip and an individual runner photo download. Awards are given to the overall top three male and female finishers in each race and to first-place finishers in each age/gender division. Age divisions are provided in multi-year brackets.
Aid stations with water and sports drinks are placed along the routes, and refreshments are available at the finish. The event has a four-hour cut-off time after which staff and marshals are withdrawn. Route maps and GPX files are available, and packet pick-up occurs on the days before the races and the morning of the event. Trail etiquette notes advise calling passes on narrow sections and removing headphones when necessary. The event proceeds in typical outdoor weather but may be canceled or postponed for severe conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
