Cook Forest 25K Trail Challenge
The Cook Forest 25K Trail Challenge is a 25 kilometer trail race held on August 15, 2026 in Cook Forest State Park near Cooksburg, Pennsylvania. The event follows a looped route that uses many of the park's established trails and runs alongside sections of the Clarion River.
Start, finish, and packet pickup are at Shelter 2, address 2604 Forest Rd., Vowinckel, PA 16233. GPS coordinates are 41.34609 N, 79.21845 W. Packet pickup and day of registration are available at Shelter 2 from 7:45 to 8:45 the morning of the race. Registration closes August 8.
The course links 13 interconnected trails across more than 17 miles of varied terrain. The route includes a climb on Seneca Trail to the Cook Forest Fire Tower, riverside running along the Clarion River, and the shaded paths of Tom's Run through old-growth evergreen forest.
Three aid stations are located along the course and are staffed by local high school cross country teams, providing hydration and nutrition. The race is organized by local runners and volunteers.
