Cook Forest 25K Trail Challenge
The Cook Forest 25K Trail Challenge is a trail race held on August 15, 2026, in Cook Forest State Park near Cooksburg, Pennsylvania. The event has been organized since 2018 and uses Shelter 2 for the start and finish as well as packet pickup. The route is a loop of more than 17 miles that links 13 interconnected trails. The course includes sections on Seneca Trail and a climb to the Cook Forest Fire Tower, riverside running along the Clarion River, and shaded paths on Tom's Run. Much of the route passes through old-growth evergreen forest and mixed trail terrain.
Three aid stations are positioned along the course and are staffed by local high school cross country teams. Aid stations provide hydration and nutrition for runners.
Packet pickup and day of registration are available at Shelter 2 from 7:45 to 8:45 the morning of the race. Registration for the event closes on August 8 at 11:59 PM ET. Lodging options in the area include cabins, campsites, and local inns. Organizers are a group of local runners and volunteers who manage the race and its logistics.
