THE Conestoga Trail Run - 10 Tough Miles
The Conestoga Trail Run is a 10 miles trail race held in Holtwood, Pennsylvania, using rocky, hilly terrain with numerous small stream crossings and hilltop views of the Susquehanna River. The course follows marked trails with orange ribbon and includes sections on private property and unmarked trails that are nonetheless marked for the race.
Bib pick-up and race day registration take place at Kellys Run Nature Preserve, which is also the finish area. The race start is located at Pequea Creek Campground; buses provide one way transport from Kellys Run to the campground. Runners must pick up their bib at Kellys Run before heading to the start; no bibs are issued at the campground.
The event is chip timed and bibs contain timing chips that must remain undamaged and be worn visibly on the front. Aid stations are placed along the course: Mile 2 water only; Mile 3 water and sports drink; Mile 7 Pinnacle Aid Station with water, sports drink and food. A post race picnic with snacks and drinks is provided at the finish; alcohol is not permitted.
There is a hard cutoff at the Pinnacle Aid Station (Mile 7): runners must reach it within 2.5 hours of the start or withdraw and be returned to Kellys Run. Runners must be 10 years old or older. Registration follows published fee tiers and the organizers do not allow refunds, deferrals, bib transfers, or unauthorized entrants. Bees are present on the course; anyone with a known allergy is required to carry an EpiPen and appropriate medication. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
