Honors and Awareness
Colors Against Cancer is an annual color run held at Edgemont Jr./Sr. High School in Scarsdale, New York. The event serves as a tribute to Taylor Matthews, a former student who established Tay-Bandz to increase public awareness regarding childhood cancer and to provide funding for pediatric cancer research. This event continues the tradition of community support originally established through the Relay for Tay.
Course and Format
The event features a 5 km distance. This is an untimed run where participants have the option to walk, jog, or run. During the course, participants are showered with non-toxic color powder at various intervals. It is recommended that those taking part wear white clothing and sneakers to best display the colors collected during the activity.
Event Logistics
The activity takes place on the grounds of the school at 200 White Oak Lane. Open registration is available through the event platform, and participants are required to create an account for processing. T-shirts are included for those who register by certain early deadlines, and additional shirts are available for purchase on the day of the event. On-site check-in is provided, and the route involves local roads that are managed as the event progress. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
