Martin County Arts Council Color Fun Run
The Color Fun Run combines a 5K precision timed run with an untimed 5K walk. Color is thrown at participants at intervals along the route, which takes place primarily on the Skewarkee Rail Trail with a short stretch on an adjacent street. The route follows a former CSX rail line toward the Roanoke River boat landing, where participants turn around and return to the starting point, which also serves as the finish line. The trail is described as flat, scenic, and shaded for the majority of the route.
Event proceeds support the arts programming and operations of the Martin County Arts Council. Registration fees listed are $30 for the timed 5K run and $25 for the untimed 5K walk, with higher day-of-event fees. Children under eight may participate free; shirts are not provided for those children but may be purchased for $15. T-shirts will be provided in the requested size if registered before May 1, 2026; extra shirts will be available while supplies last.
Packet pickup is available at the Martin County Arts Council on the day before the event and on the morning of the event. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers aged 18 and older, and to the top three overall male and female finishers aged 17 and younger.
