Coast to Crest 10K and 5K - The Flat and the Furious
The event is the 13th annual Coast to Crest trail race held in Del Mar, California at 2801 Via De La Valle, CA 92014. It features multiple distances on maintained dirt trails along coastal lagoon areas.
Except for the first quarter mile, the courses are very flat and are described as a sprint course, which allows faster running compared with typical trail terrain. Both the 10K and 5K run out-and-back routes offer wide open lagoon views and conclude with a downhill finish. The trails are well groomed and run entirely on dirt.
Wildlife may be visible along the route; the area is noted as a nesting place for osprey. The event also functions as the final Championship Qualifier of the Sunshine Series.
